sweet & quick

.
VeganMoFo demands daily posts, but I'm a little tired tonight, so I will bring you something quick, yet sweet. Here is one of the many (perhaps too many) vegan cakes I ate last weekend, this one at the café in the East West bookstore. (5th avenue, off of 14th street).

The prettiest,

...yet thinnest slice of red velvet cake. Mmmm. Flamboyantly colored dessert, how I love thee.

Yay, I'm loving your daily posts. I'm sorry I've been too busy to comment but I've been stopping by :-) Looking back a few posts.. I really want to go to a get-together with other bloggers/PPKers! You're lucky, living in New York! PS - send cake! I don't live in a vegan cake area :-P besides my kitchen.

Yes I'm learning that the daily blogging demand means quick, short, and sweet posts. And damn does that sure look Sweet. I don't think I've ever seen a slice of cake so thin.

I'm loving your daily posts. I've been reading but my computer was not allowing me to comment on any blog. Thankfully, it's fixed now.

That cake looks so yummy. We have a few restaurants in the area that offer vegan meals but no desserts (so sad)

unfortunately, the daily posting is impossible for me, which is why I regretfully cannot participate in VeganMoFo; but you're doing just fine with the posts!! and this red velvet cake? it's the epitome of vegan decadence - yum!!

That is the REDDEST vegan red velvet cake I've ever seen.....heavenly. (Or maybe, more aptly, devilishly red?)

Red velvet cake is so gorgeous! I've only eaten it once though and it tasted pretty much like a white cake with red food coloring. Should it have a distinct flavor of its own?

Thanks for your comments, everybody!

Rural Vegan, I was always under the impression that red velvet cake is a chocolate cake with red coloring, but either way, it doesn't have too much of a distinctive flavor. Usually its frosting is supposed to have a more "old-fashioned" style, but individual cakes represent different takes on this matter!

I can't believe that skinny slice could stand upright on the plate. It looks heavenly!
