chipmunk cheeks

I just want to thank everybody SO much for their comments on my last post. I appreciated your wisdom and your support, and hearing about your own personal experiences! I really took to heart the advice about appreciating the subtlety of change, and of not expecting immediate gratification, which is just not realistic.

Unfortunately, all questions of food and detox are going to be on hold here for a little while. I had two of my wisdom teeth taken out today. I'm sure all the pain-killers I was injected with and I'm taking right now are not exactly detox-friendly! Nor are the soft things I'm eating: soy yogurt, pudding, and little fruit gels. But as soon as the bleeding and drooling stops, as soon as the pain goes away and the swollen chipmunk cheeks go down, I'll be back to eating and blogging like normal.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Good luck! When I had mine out I pretty much only ate applesauce, oatmeal, pudding and tomato soup.

I hope you feel better soon!

Take care of yourself, Bazu! Get lots of rest and take it slow. Those pain meds are strong.

Hope your teeth (or lack thereof) heal up perfectly. If you have stitches.. don't brush your teeth too soon! I ripped mine out. Now is your chance to try all the soup recipes in the cookbooks! Hehe. Well at least it's over with.

Having your wisdom teeth out is no fun (as I'm sure you know now) - I hope you heal up quickly! Looks like it's time for some good frozen smoothies. :)

Good for you though...it's a tough decision to make (deal with the pain or yank them out). Warm salt water helps a lot with both the pain and the cleaning. I had 8 teeth removed in preparation for getting my braces, so pudding, yogurt, etc. was key to filling me up.

GOOD LUCK!

Poor Bazu--but I'll bet you look cute with chipmunk cheeks. Hope you feel better.

I always wondered--if they're called wisdom teeth--why do they always end up being yanked? Sounds like a design flaw, with my apologies to the almighty.

Wishing you a happy recovery! Enjoy eating all the soft, sweet, comforting foods while you can! And I hope to see another food post from you soon--then I'll know everything's back to normal!

By the way, I responded to your comment back over on my blog! Cheers!

My wishes to you for a speedy recovery. I had mine taken out 10 years ago and was completely drugged up for the next 3 days. So glad because I can be a big baby when I'm in pain. Enjoy your time resting. We don't realize how much we needed it until we're forced back out into the real world.

Hi Bazu!! I haven't been online much this week. I hope you're feeling better after having your wisdom teeth out. I had all 4 of mine taken out at the same time about 10 years ago. Not fun!

Congrats on becoming a member of the What Do Vegans Eat Blog :) That's really cool!!! Hope you and Daiku have a wonderful weekend.
