Happy Norooz, everybody. Today is the first day of spring and is also celebrated as New Year in Iran. I got home from France too late to grown any greens this year, so this photo is from last year! I will be cooking some green food tonight, though, in the hopes that spring will actually show its face in Syracuse! Meanwhile, check out my Norooz posts from last year (here and here) for some recipes and ideas. I hope it's warm, sunny, and spring-like wherever you all are!

Happy Norooz, Bazu! With more snow coming tonight, it certainly doesn't feel like spring, but I have to remain hopeful that it will arrive eventually!
actually, it's freezing cold today :(
But I went to an organic farm and bought lots of greens, does that count?
HAPPY NOROOZ!
Happy Norooz! Unfortunately, we are under a winter storm watch tonight all through tomorrow and are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow...so much for the first day of spring, huh?! Hopefully it is warmer in NY!
Courtney
cute!
i can see why northerners look forward to spring so much. i love the produce in spring/summer, i will just miss the cold weather. of course, i'm not in snow all the time.
Happy Norooz! I saw that in my organiser and thought of you!
Maybe I should make something persian for dinner tonight...
Hey happy spring! I've been thinking about you and your demi-glace since I discovered that fava bean broth gels up like meat stock. I think there's something there. It makes me kind of excited.
Happy Norooz and Happy SPRING! (yippee!)
NoRooz Mobarak!
Hoorah!
I have a big post from my annual NoRooz party coming up tonight. I made a couple new dishes that turned out great. Isn't NoRooz the best! It's sunny here today, and I celebrated by putting tung oil on all our eco patio furniture... getting ready for a new season of outdoor eating and lounging! Of course I've thought of you with all the NoRooz festivities... in particular I used some of the delicious barberries you sent me last year in my kuku sabzi. Yum!
Happy NoRooz Bazu!
Hey, wouldn't it be fun to celebrate together someday?
Amey
