a perfect work lunch

I have a good reason why I haven't blogged in a little while- for the past 5 weeks, I have been working for a mayoral candidate leading up to the Sept. 15th primary. How did we do? Let's just say that Syracuse is well on its way to having its first female mayor- woo! Now that the primary is behind us, I will be back to cooking, eating, and blogging more seriously. While I was working, the above photo was a typical lunch- wheat crackers, Follow Your Heart cheddar cheese, and a fruit leather. Great, however not the most blog-worthy meal.

However, in the next few weeks, we have ... my trip to Finland and Austria with some awesome fellow vegans, the 3rd installment of VeganMoFo, the start of Fall and Autumnal foods galore, in other words, blogging bonanza!

SO excited about the trip - can't wait! I really loved that FYH Cheddar but I need to get myself back to the US to try Daiya.

first female mayor?! That's madness. What the hell took so long? Did you know that my mom is the mayor of Santa Cruz? It's her third term.

I want to go to finland and austria with you... but in the meantime I"ll have to settle for reading WTR?...
xo!

Amey-
I'm as surprised as you are- no women, and no people of color have ever been mayor in Syracuse's 162 year history. It's a blue city in a blue state, for crying out loud!
How cool that your mom is mayor- I didn't know that!
It's never too late to book that flight to Vienna...

I have half a block of fyh cheddar in my fridge and have been contemplating how to use it before it starts growing weird-colored mold, but I didn't think of eating it plain with crackers. Yum! Have fun on your trips!

Congrats on the campaign work...I can't believe that it is a big deal that a woman could be mayor...that should be normal!

I am glad to hear you will be back to blogging--I miss your posts :-)

Looks blog-worthy to me.

And kudos to the political efforts.

You travel more than anyone I know. Jealous--but in a happy-for-you sorta' way!

XO

OHhhh I love fruit leather, such a fun snack. Strawberry would most definitely be my favorite flavor. Hmmm...I haven't had any in a very long while, that must be remedied asap.
